survive. They, along with the Indian army, are the true heroes that

Theatrical. There was enough drama there; we
didn’t need faux drama on top of that. Barkha Dutt’s coverage of the
ground floor of the Taj is a case in point. “Shattered glass!!
Shattered glass!!” she hyperventilated in a broken voice. What did she
expect to find? A rare orchid?

What worries me is that we seem to have no chain of command to decide who takes charge in times of emergency. Most countries have a well oiled drill that is activated in times like these. Even today we have individual police officers who are able to leak information to the media. Have you noticed how every word that Kasab the terrorist is saying gets into the newspapers without anyone attributing it to an official briefing.
Don't we every learn?

three days back when england cricket board consented to send the team,NDTV was reporting about that news and ridiculously showing the clipping of taj burning in that news.CNBC was covering mumbai attack news with MUMABI TERROR WRITTEN IN FALLING BLOOD STYLE AND ALSO WITH A AK47 ATTACHED TO IT,irresponsible terrorizing displays by these channels.
these channels are out of control.broadcasting ministry should take strict action against such channels.

Much appreciated that I and many like me, ie. ordinary people are not wrong in having these thoughts. It is hightime we have certain laws and regualtions in place to check the media. It is futile to think that media, in the era of TRPs, will show some self restrain. People in media cannot and should not air their opinions as if that is the truth. They should report and it appears that the meaning to the word "REPORT" has been forgotten or at least misunderstood by the "reporters".
